POST Luxembourg and CTT Correios have signed an agreement to strengthen the services offered to immigrant communities

On 27 March 2025, POST Luxembourg and CTT - Correios de Portugal signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening the services offered to Portuguese communities living in Luxembourg and to Luxembourg citizens residing in Portugal.

This memorandum of understanding sets out the broad outlines of a strategic collaboration between the two postal companies, in particular through the development of services, products and customer support in the areas of mail, parcels, logistics and IT support.

For João Bento, CEO of CTT, "this agreement reinforces CTT's role of proximity to Portuguese communities, wherever they may be. Thanks to this partnership, we will further facilitate access to CTT's services for the large community of Portuguese emigrants in Luxembourg, while strengthening the ties between the two countries".

Mario Treinen, Director of POST Courrier, said: "Portugal and Luxembourg share strong historical ties, which we are keen to maintain in the postal sector too. At the beginning of this year, POST Luxembourg made a major commitment to its customers with links to Portugal by introducing very competitive rates for parcel shipments from the Grand Duchy to Portugal, equivalent to those for shipments to neighbouring countries. This measure underlines the potential that we are seeking to amplify through our agreement with CTT, aimed at providing reliable and innovative solutions that create value for both communities".

This collaboration will strengthen the services offered to immigrant communities, given the close relationship between the two countries and the size of the Portuguese community in the Grand Duchy. The potential for joint investment in areas of collaboration will also be assessed, namely infrastructure, technology (such as automated lockers), innovation and sustainability.
