Temporary suspension of shipments to the UK lifted

08 January 2021

Following the resumption of transport links with the United Kingdom, mail and parcel shipments to this destination will resume from this Friday, January 8, 2021, on. Mail and parcels to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are once again accepted by POST Luxembourg.

All parcels and letters to the United Kingdom, deposited with POST Luxembourg before the temporary suspension, which was in force since December 22, 2020, have been forwarded.

As of January 1, 2021, the exchange of goods with the UK is no longer considered as intra-European trade, but as trade outside the European Union. All consignments containing anything other than documents are subject to several customs formalities.

The United Kingdom's exit from the European Union does not affect POST Luxembourg's postage charges. The customer must nevertheless pay VAT and customs tax where required by the new regulations.

Due to customs processing on entry into the UK and possible disruptions to transport links as a result of the health crisis, delivery times for shipments may be extended and their arrival date can currently not be guaranteed.

Customs forms (CN22 and CN23) are available from POST outlets and online at https://www.post.lu/particuliers/courrier/formalites-douanieres.
